Ashamed

Today, reading badly informed or ignorant news articles, even on the BBC, about Icesave and the recent vote in Iceland I am ashamed to be British. I would have expected something more balanced from the BBC which is funded by the nation, yet, as in the case of all Icesave reporting and even the Eyjafjallajökull news stories, it seems that sensationalism wins again. Comments on the news stories are in many cases sensible and decent from both Brits and Icelanders but there are also awful comments from readers that are still passing moderation; racist, ignorant and highly offensive. I am ashamed to have the same nationality as these people and today the British disappoint me, again.
